The purpose of the Hilltop Spiritual Formation Team
The purpose of the Hilltop Spiritual Formation Team is to lead Hilltop in the process of being conformed to the image of Christ by the working of God’s Spirit, for the transformation of our towns.
The
Investing: The Spiritual Formation Team will invest in people by encouraging each Hilltopper to live a life that transforms and conforms us to the image of Christ that will heal, renew and restore.
Igniting: The Spiritual Formation Team will ignite our towns by encouraging each Hilltopper to reflect the working of God’s Spirit in our lives and to cooperate with the Spirit by using spiritual disciplines (practices) as means of opening ourselves to God’s Spirit.
Restoring: The Spiritual Formation Team will encourage and support each Hilltopper in restoring people to God by assisting them in learning to live well; love God well; love our spouse well; raise our children well; love our friends and neighbors-and even our enemies-well; study well; face adversity well; run our businesses well; form community life well; reach out to those on the margins well; and die well.
The Spiritual Formation Team is Growing
With the support, encouragement and assistance of the Spiritual Formation Team each Hilltopper will grow and develop in being people of genuine Christ-like character to reflect and share the image of Christ in our towns.
Potential Goals for 2012
1. Develop a process to incorporate spiritual disciplines into the daily life of each Hilltopper and encourage and assist each individual in developing a spiritual plan
2. Develop spiritual goals for each age group at Hilltop and a strategic process for achieving those goals
3. Develop a series of classes for new Christians at Hilltop that will lead them in becoming a fully devoted follower of Christ.
Possible Ways to Track Each Goal
1. Use an online anonymous survey tool to offer a ‘Spiritual Assessment Survey’ to be completed by each member of Hilltop semi-annually.
2. Develop a packet that can be given to families that outlines the goals and specific ways children will be shaped and formed in the image of Christ from infant through high school age at Hilltop.
3. Track when classes are offered, who attends classes, who completes classes.
