Our History

The Hilltop Community Church of Christ was founded on April 23, 1953, at 3:00 PM, holding its first services at a rented lodge at 406 E. Grand. After years of growth, the church purchased property at 717 E. Grand, built a sanctuary, and worshipped there for 50 years. From 2003 to 2018, our services moved to the El Segundo Middle School on Center Street. During that time, the property at 717 E. Grand, still owned by the church, was used for a daycare, offices, Bible studies, and various events.  We moved back into the building in 2018 and are currently sharing the space with our daycare ministry.

Our congregation includes individuals and families from all walks of life and cultural backgrounds. We represent a wide range of socioeconomic and educational backgrounds, ages, and previous religious affiliations.

The Hilltop Church welcomes everyone, including those who do not yet have a relationship with Jesus Christ. We are a family growing closer to God and each other on our journey of faith. We are a Christ-centered, Bible-believing, prayer-dependent community that loves God, loves each other, and loves those who don't yet know Jesus.
